World demand for cotton (grows on same land that peanuts are grown on -- higher cotton prices means you need higher peanut prices to get farmers to plant peanuts instead of cotton) together with the dry weather in Texas is pushing peanut prices higher.

Peanuts are a great source of protein (6.7g per 1oz serving) which is more than any other nut. They also contain, resveratrol, the same chemical compound found in red wine. Resveratrol is good for heart health.
