Dried fruit is an excellent way to add foods to your daily diet that are good for your health. They must be eaten in moderation as each handful of dried fruit has increased calories due to the concentration of sugars during the drying process.

 

Dried fruits are a good source of fiber. They retain most of the nutritional value of fresh fruit. The only exceptions are that during the drying process much of the water soluble vitamins B and C are lost as well as potassium. Most dried fruits contain sulfites as a preservative.
