    Black Walnuts

They are advertised for large birds, like macaws. I finally found a nut she can't crack. Very hard.

    Black Walnuts in Shells

Good tasting walnuts. Hard to crack. Need a heavy duty nut cracker for these.

    The conundrum

I had always been curious about black walnuts so I got some. Impossible to crack open (you'll need a vise) and strange flavor. I may grow to like them, but right now they look intriguing in a dish on the dining room table, and they will probably do that for a while.

    Black Walnuts

Once I found instructions on how to crack these extremely hard nuts, I was somewhat disappointed in the amount of nut meat produced. It was like eating a small crab. A lot of digging for very little gold.

Require hammer to crack, but worth the extra effort. Definitely delicious.

    Black walnuts

I ordered a lot of them and there wasn’t a bad one in the bunch! Thoughtful packaging, exactly as pictured and described, a quality product with the best pricing on the web. Squirrels loved them. I’d never seen one before, I think the shell is harder, the animals preferred the regular over these.

    black walnuts

The black walnuts are very tasty. However our squirrels are unable to break the shells so they just bury them. My husband tried to crack one with the nut cracker & it broke right in half. It took channel grips to break just 1 black walnut. I won't order them again. My husband also remarked they didn't have as much "meat" in them as regular walnuts! So was worth a try, but will only order regular walnuts after this!
